SUMMARY:16th Annual Ron Ortyl Memorial golf Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the 16th Annual Ron Ortyl Memorial Golf Tournament on September 23rd at Norwood Hills Country Club. All proceeds will benefit Gateway Pet Guardians (GPG). Ron loved animals\, especially dogs\, and GPG not only rescues dogs and cats in need\, but also provides medical treatment\, pet owner education\, outreach programs\, pet food drives\, and a low-cost veterinary clinic at its Pet Resource Center. \nThe tournament once gain will have a $200\,000 hole-in-one opportunity on the two courses\, along with a $10\,000 closest to the hold prize ($5\,000 to the winner\, $5\,000 donated to GPG in winner’s name) on each course. \nMr. Ortyl was infamous for his generosity to others. Thanks to your generosity we can continue this tournament\, raise funds for a GPG\, and remember/honor a special man.

The goal is to meet people where they are on a more regular basis to increase access and help eliminate transportation barriers.

On Saturday\, April 6th\, I would love for you to join us for a one-of-a-kind event: the 24-Hour Shelter Slumber Pawty here at GPG.  You won’t want to miss out on this unforgettable experience! Last year was my first time staying overnight and it was such a great experience and was very easy to get people to donate since I was staying in a shelter with a shelter pet.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us on September 25th for the 15th Annual Ron Ortyl Memorial Golf Tournament at Norwood Hills Country Club! \nThis tournament was initiated in 2008\, a year after Ron passed away\, as a way to honor\, remember\, and thank him for his incredible generosity to others. He loved golf and was a life-long member at Norwood so the location is meaningful – plus it offers two courses which we fortunately need to accommodate all the teams. \nRon also loved animals\, especially dogs. This year\, as well as several previous\, Gateway Pet Guardians (GPG) will be the recipient of the funds raised. \nThis year’s golf tournament will raise funds for GPG’s work including animal rescue\, medical treatments\, pet owner education and resources like a pet food pantry\, and a low-cost veterinary clinic to serve pets and their people in Metro East St. Louis. \nTo register or contact the event organizer go to https://gatewaypets.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/2023-15th-Annual-Ron-Ortyl-Memorial-Golf-Tournament.pdf \nPrizes: \nA player from both the East and West course will go home with 5K. The entire event was live-streamed on social media\, giving the public a glimpse into the lives of shelter animals. By the time the 24-hour was up\, the team had raised over $30\,000! In 2018\, another area organization\, Belleville Area Humane Society\, joined and together\, we raised over $50\,000! This event exploded in 2019 when 17 organizations came together raise much-needed funds for community animals in need.
