Pet Food Pantry

Gateway Pet Guardians’ Pet Food Pantry is accessible to any pet owning family residing in the East Side Pet District. To qualify, families must provide the following at time of application:

  • Proof of residency (62201, 62203, 62204, 62205, 62206, and 62207 only)
  • Proof of need (link card, medical card, W2, pay stub, etc.)
  • Proof of spay/neuter for every pet in the home (or adoption contract if adopted from shelter)

Families are allowed to receive free pet food for up to 4 pets on a monthly basis through the Pet Food Pantry. Pet food is distributed at the Gateway Pet Guardians facility at 725 N 15th St., East St. Louis, IL 62205 once/month.  You can apply here:  GPG’s Pet Food Pantry Application.

We also partner with St. Louis Area Foodbank’s Food on the Move events 4 times/month.  Food on the move is a walk-through, shopping-style food distribution program for individuals with limited access to healthy human food and resources. At these distributions, neighbors can walk through their custom built, refrigerated trailer and choose the foods they need and want. We distribute pet food alongside them with no residency, income or spay/neuter requirements.  Here are the 4 events that GPG distributes pet food at:
