Saint Louis, MO, April 6, 2011 – Gateway Pet Guardians’ latest fund raiser, the “Tees and Tails” Golf Tournament and “Wine and Wags” Wine Tasting event on Saturday, April 30th, will raise money for the construction of a much-needed animal shelter in East St. Louis. Both events will be held at the Clinton Hill Golf Course in Swansea, IL.
“Our hope is to raise about $10,000 from these two events to put in our shelter fund,” said Jamie Anderson Case, Executive Director of the rescue. “We are hoping to raise about $100,000 total by the end of 2011 to help us build a shelter where we can house rescued animals before finding them foster families.”
For the golfers there will be a four person scramble at 1:00 pm with an $80 per person entry fee which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, drink tickets and dinner with after party.
For the non-golfers, Wine & Wags will offer a wine and cheese event beginning at 3:00 pm in the golf course pavilion. The $30 ticket includes wine tasting and light appetizers. There will also be several items available for silent auction including sporting events, sports memorabilia, local hotel stays and much more.
The events will wrap up with a dinner and after party, also included with the price of the tickets, featuring live music from The RadioStar. All event proceeds will benefit the Gateway Pet Guardians shelter fund to provide housing for homeless animals in East St. Louis area.
