We recently received a very special announcement from our friends at the Banfield Foundation. The nonprofit organization awarded a $7,500 grant to Gateway Pet Guardians to be used towards our East Side Pet Crisis Fund! This fund was created in 2014 to assist families in the Metro East with emergency veterinary care. Through our work with the community, we encounter situations where families need financial help to care for their animals in times of crisis. Thanks to this fund, we are able to serve as a resource to residents with nowhere else to turn. Assistance has included examinations, obstructions, outpatient parvo treatment, emergency surgeries and amputations, and humane euthanasia.
Banfield Foundation believes that all pets deserve access to veterinary care. In support of this belief, the foundation funds programs that enable veterinary care, elevate the power of the human-animal bond, provide disaster relief for pets, and advance the science of veterinary medicine through fostering innovation and education.
Banfield Foundation awarded a $10,000 grant to support Gateway Pet Guardians in 2018; and a $5,000 grant in 2016. We are grateful for the continued support that the Banfield Foundation has provided over the past few years, and are eager to help more families access much-needed emergency veterinary care this year!
