Taco was attacked by a large dog this week. Luckily, volunteers were nearby and jumped into action, breaking up the attack and rushing him to a partner vet. Taco’s mom recently lost her job because of an injury, and couldn’t afford vet care. But thankfully, she has us in her corner and we are supporting her in this time of need.
Taco had dental x-rays done and we learned his jaw is fractured in two places. He needed surgery to wire his jaw back together. He will need to wear a soft muzzle for a few weeks, and be syringe fed for several months, quite possibly the rest of his life depending on how the injury heals. But, his mom is up to the challenge. She told us, “I will do anything to get my baby back!”
Taco’s story is sad, but not unique to our work in the Metro East. We field calls from families every day with nowhere else to turn. We can only say yes when funds are available, so please help me say “yes” to more families in need. Your donation helps pets like Taco have a second chance at life. Donate today!
