Here’s how Gateway Pet Guardians went from losing 1 laptop this April to gaining 12 new-for-us laptops in May!

On April 10th, 2024, two burglars broke into our Pet Resource Center and stole from our facility.

Thankfully, no human or furry friends were harmed, but they unfortunately made off with one of our laptops and meds for our pets. They even helped themselves to a slice of leftover pizza from the fridge!

After the burglary, we received an incredible outpouring of support from our partners like Instinct Pet Food, Connectria, and SFW Partners. Through your generosity, we were able to add cameras and alarms to prevent future break-ins.

Enhancing our security? Check! But what about that laptop we lost?

This is where our new electronics recycling friends at Phoenix Solutions comes into the story (https://phoenix-solutions.tech). Hearing about the stolen laptop, James Gordon, their CEO, reached out to kindly offer us help far above and beyond what was taken (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jamestimothygordon).

Although the suspects had stolen one laptop, two weeks after experiencing our theft, James and his Phoenix Solutions team visited our headquarters to contribute 4 excellent refurbished laptops to Gateway Pet Guardians. These gifted laptops have greatly improved our work already!

A few weeks later, the adorable, adoptable Suede the pup and our very own Diana Pupillo, GPG’s Development Director, visited the PXS facility in Ballwin. We had the honor of receiving 8 more donated laptops for the Gateway staff from James and his team.

It wasn’t just Suede’s tail that’s wagging with joy!

Because of Phoenix Solutions, Gateway Pet Guardians went from struggling with antiquated tech, cracked screens, missing keys, and outdated software to now having 12 tremendous laptops that accelerate everything our GPG team does.

And if that wasn’t enough, Phoenix Solutions then offered 8 good-as-new monitors for the GPG staff in June 2024 to help our team be even more productive!

We want to extend a sincere thank you to James, his Phoenix Solutions team, and all those who have supported us after this burglary. Thank you to everyone who came to our aid in our time of loss!
