Chester, a beautiful senior cat, enjoys the finer things in life. He loves his family, snuggling in his cat bed, and rubbing against those he loves. But one day, he accidentally slipped out the door. Suddenly, a stray dog was after him. Chester’s family scared the dog off their property and ran to their cat, noticing he was favoring his rear leg. They carried him back to the house.

Chester lost his appetite and started to lay around, uninterested in his family or anything for that matter. They knew something was wrong and that Chester needed help. His family called Gateway Pet Guardians, and the following day, Chester was able to see a full-service vet.

Thankfully, x-rays confirmed that Chester didn’t break any bones. They cleaned his wounds and noticed two punctures. They prescribed antibiotics and pain medication, and sent him home.

Chester’s family was so happy to hear he would make a full recovery! They are treating him like a king as he recovers, and in a few weeks will be neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped through our Spay/Neuter Program.

Chester received emergency veterinary services through our East Side Pet Crisis Fund. This fund helps keep families whole. With your help, we can make a difference by keeping pets with their loving owners and out of area shelters. Donate today!
