We received a call from a woman in the Metro East concerned about her dogs. She had fallen on hard times. Her husband was diagnosed with MRSA and had been in and out of the hospital having surgeries. Two of her four dogs were sick, losing hair and not eating. She had nowhere to turn, and was overwhelmed. She was concerned she’d have to surrender the dogs to animal control.

We visited with the woman and offered our services. We helped her fix the dogs, and connected her with the Bi-State Pet Food Pantry to receive free pet food once a month. We took her dogs to the vet, where they were dewormed and given flea preventatives and antibiotics. In a matter of days, the life returned to their eyes. Princess Rowdy (pictured) and her brother LJ continue to live with their loving mom and dad, thanks to the East Side Pet Crisis Fund. This fund is dedicated to helping low-income pet parents in the Metro East who need access to emergency veterinary services for their pets.

Our East Side Pet Crisis Fund helps keep families whole. Many of the residents we aid with this fund have nowhere else to turn. But we can only help when funds are available. With your help, we can make a difference by keeping pets with their loving owners and out of area shelters. Donate today!
