In January, Gateway Pet Guardians started a series of Roundtables as an opportunity for fosters to continue learning about new areas of fostering and rescue, and to help build the foster community. We host one Roundtable a month covering a specific topic. Last month, we explored parvo, puppies, and more; and this month, we focused our efforts on medical fostering. Next month, we will explore shy/fearful fosters and how to work with them once rescued. These Roundtables are an exciting opportunity to tap into our own experience as a resource, and encourage each other along on our fostering journey.
Last night, we hosted the Roundtable focused on medical fostering. The room was filled with experienced medical fosters, excited to impart their wisdom and knowledge.

From the information we shared at this meeting, we have developed two videos. The first is focused on setting up a Foster Medical Kit to help care for wounded animals.
The second is a collection of tips we came up with to help fosters through their first medical foster case.
