This week Lindy Maxwell has the Foster Spotlight on her! Lindy found out about GPG at a Trivia Night she attended almost two years ago and thus began her fostering journey. She has had seven fosters in her short time with GPG! Lindy tells us that she loves puppies from eight weeks to one year old because of their sweet little personalities and her addiction to cuddling them. Her first two fosters from the Spice litter, Dill and Basil were the most memorable for her. Even though she thought it would be hard to let them go, she was able to find them perfect homes. Basil even remembered her a few months later, and his response to her was priceless!
In Lindy’s spare time, she is busy with her own pups. She has three Miniature Pinscher named Harley, Sasha, and Simon and a Great Dane named Olaf. Olaf was a foster failure, which is not uncommon while fostering. She also loves practicing Tai Chi, yoga, and meditation. Lindy can be found outside of GPG at Edward Jones where she is a Senior Associate in the Accounts Department.
Lindy’s best piece of advice for a new foster is to not take on more than you can handle and always ask for advice in the Facebook Foster Forum and from your mentor. Most importantly, make sure you have the time and patience it takes to be a foster… it’s not for the faint of heart! Thank you Lindy for all you do for the pups and for making GPG the best it can be!
