We found Mercedes wondering lost in Washington Park. A few weeks ago, we reunited her with her dad, Glenn. She was incredibly excited to see him, crawling all over and knocking him down (she even peed a little too!) Mercedes was Glenn’s wife’s dog who passed away in February. She had been missing for three weeks and Glenn searched everywhere. Glenn signed up for our spay/neuter program. We also sent her home vaccinated and microchipped along with a new collar and tag too.
The East Side Crisis Fund is what allows us to help dogs like Mercedes. We hope that you’ll consider making a donation to our end-of-year WHY Holiday Campaign. This year, we are looking to raise funds to replenish the depleted Second Chance and East Side Crisis Funds which enable us to provide immediate emergency medical care for sick and injured pets that come through our doors. The timing is critical as these cases continue to rise as the Metro East community know that they can now turn to us for help.
