We received some exciting information from The St. Louis Petlover Coalition today! Julia Mittelstadt, President and Jamie Case, Executive Director met with Betsy Cohen of Purina and the St. Louis Petlover Coalition. We discussed our objectives for the Metro East Communities where pet overpopulation and homelessness are at its highest. They have a turn-key program already put together for educating residents about the importance of spaying and neutering. This program can be used to give presentations to:

  • Churches
  • Schools
  • Youth Groups
  • City Council Meetings
  • Community Events
  • Seminars set up specifically to discuss animal welfare
  • They also have an amazing video to show to high school teenagers created by high school teenagers. This can be shown and presented by teachers in these communities. There is a pdf discussion guide to go along with this video.

We need dedicated individuals that want to combat the homeless animal population by contacting these groups and setting up presentations. We also need individuals to conduct these seminars.

We see this as a huge opportunity to start changing the minds of children and individuals in the East St. Louis, Centreville, Washington Park and Alorton areas. We hope this will begin to educate everyone on the importance of spaying and neutering and proper animal ownership.

If you are interested in helping out on the education committee, please contact Jamie Case at Jamie@gatewaypets.com.

We can’t even being to explain how excited we are about this! Be a part of something HUGE!
