Our rescue team has been busy once again.  Yesterday, they were out in the East St. Louis area helping to rescue two litters of puppies and one of the mother dogs.

All of the animals pulled during this rescue went to Gateway Pet Guardians’ partner organizations, Helping Strays, the Monroe County Humane Society.

Our amazing volunteers pose for a picture with the puppies they’ve just rescued from beneath the floor boards of an abandoned house.
You can see the litter of pups tucked away underneath the house.  Our volunteers often have to crawl beneath or into the attics of abandoned or burned homes to rescue puppy litters.
